Terms of service
The rules for using Organiz, for members and for the organizations that run campaigns on it.
Effective date: September 26, 2026 Last updated: September 26, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Organiz, Inc. ("Organiz", "we", "us", "our"). They apply when you use the Organiz member app, the Organiz admin panel, or any page or message that links to these terms (together, the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
Questions about these terms: privacy@organiz.org.
Who these terms cover
Members are people who use Organiz to take part in campaigns: completing actions, earning points, chatting, and redeeming rewards.
Organizations (our "clients") are the groups that run campaigns on Organiz, and the people who use the admin panel on their behalf.
Some sections apply only to members or only to organizations. Everything else applies to everyone.
Who can use Organiz
You must be at least 13 years old to use Organiz. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission.
If you use Organiz on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these terms for it.
Your account
You're responsible for your account and for what happens on it. Keep your login details private, and tell us at privacy@organiz.org if you think someone else has used your account.
Give us accurate information. Your public profile shows your display name, handle, level, badges, and the actions you've pinned. Don't use a name or handle that impersonates someone else or misleads people.
Using the Service
Use Organiz for its purpose: taking part in, and running, civic and community campaigns. When you use it, don't:
- Break the law, or help someone else break it
- Harass, threaten, or abuse anyone, or post hateful, sexually explicit, or violent content
- Post someone else's private information without their permission
- Pretend to be someone else, or misrepresent a connection with a person or organization
- Send spam, or use the Service to message people who haven't agreed to hear from you
- Earn points by cheating, including with scripts, bots, multiple accounts, or by faking completed actions
- Try to get into accounts, data, or parts of the Service you aren't allowed to use, or probe, disrupt, or overload our systems
- Copy, resell, or rebuild the Service, or scrape it in bulk
We may remove content, reverse points, or suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
Points, levels, and rewards
Points and levels show how much you've taken part. They are not money. They have no cash value, can't be bought, sold, or transferred, and can't be exchanged for cash.
Each organization runs its own reward store. The organization, not Organiz, chooses its rewards, sets their point costs, and provides them. Rewards are digital items, like downloads and coupon codes for the organization's own store. Questions about a reward, including whether a coupon works, go to the organization that offered it.
We may change how points are earned, the daily limit, and how levels work. We may correct points credited by mistake, and remove points earned in breach of these terms. An organization can also adjust points earned on its campaigns. When a campaign or organization leaves Organiz, its reward store may close.
Text messages
Some actions let you sign up to receive text messages from the organization running the campaign. When you tick the consent box:
- You agree to receive recurring text messages from that organization, at the number you gave. The organization is the sender, not Organiz.
- Message frequency varies by organization and campaign.
- Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
- Reply HELP for help, or contact the organization.
- Reply STOP to stop receiving messages from that organization. You'll get one message confirming you've been unsubscribed.
- Agreeing is never a condition of taking part in a campaign or of any purchase.
- Mobile carriers aren't responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.
We keep a record of the consent you gave, including the exact wording you agreed to. See our Privacy Policy for how your phone number is used and shared.
Chat and content you post
You can post messages, comments, and other content in Organiz, for example in campaign chats and livestream comments. You keep ownership of what you post. You give Organiz, and the organization whose campaign it appears on, a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and share it as part of running the Service and that campaign.
Only post content you have the right to share. Organizations and Organiz can moderate chat, which includes removing messages and muting or banning members who break these rules. We don't review everything that's posted, and content in chats reflects the views of the person who posted it.
For organizations
If you run campaigns on Organiz, you're also responsible for:
- Your content. Everything you publish, including campaign pages, actions, rewards, and messages, is yours. It must be accurate and lawful, and you must have the rights to use it.
- Your members' data. You may use member data only for your campaigns and your organization's own lawful purposes, in line with our Privacy Policy and the choices members have made. You're responsible for how you use data you export, and data sent to tools you connect.
- Your messages. You're the sender of any text messages or emails you send to members, and you're responsible for following the laws that apply, including consent, opt-out, and quiet-hours rules for text messages.
- Your rewards. You provide the rewards in your store, and you're responsible for honoring them.
- Your tools. Connecting a tool like Action Network, Mobilize, or ControlShift is your choice. Your use of that tool is governed by your own agreement with its provider.
- Your team. Keep your admins' access up to date, and remove people who should no longer have it.
A separate written agreement between your organization and Organiz, if you have one, takes priority over this section where the two differ.
Third-party services
Organiz works with other services, like the login provider you sign in with and the tools an organization connects. Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them. We aren't responsible for services we don't run.
Our rights
Organiz owns the Service, including its software, design, and branding. These terms don't give you any rights to them except to use the Service as these terms allow. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.
Ending your use
You can stop using Organiz at any time. To close your account and delete your data, contact us at privacy@organiz.org.
We may suspend or close an account, or remove content, if you break these terms, if we have to by law, or to protect members, organizations, or the Service. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you first.
We may change or stop parts of the Service. If we shut down the Service entirely, we'll give reasonable notice.
The sections on points and rewards, content, our rights, disclaimers, liability, and disputes still apply after your use ends.
Disclaimers
We work hard to keep Organiz running and accurate, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We don't guarantee that the Service will always be available or free of errors, or that any campaign, action, or reward will do what an organization says it will.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Organiz won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim. Members use Organiz for free, so for members this limit is $100.
Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Indemnity
If your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these terms leads to a claim against Organiz, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of that claim, including legal fees. For organizations, this includes claims about your campaigns, your messages to members, and your rewards.
Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute about these terms or the Service will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California, and you and Organiz agree to those courts' jurisdiction.
Before filing a claim, please contact us at privacy@organiz.org so we can try to resolve it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top of this page when we do. For material changes, we'll make a reasonable effort to notify active users before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the updated terms.
General
If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a part of these terms isn't a waiver of it. You can't transfer these terms to someone else without our consent. We can transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
