Glossary

Plain definitions of the words used across the Organiz guides.

The words you will see across these guides, in plain terms.

Organization

Your group on Organiz. It owns your pages, actions, rewards, and members.

Admin

The back office where your team builds campaigns and looks after members. It is also the name of one of the two team roles.

Member app

The app your supporters use to browse campaigns, take actions, and earn points.

Page

A campaign. It is a set of actions and content that a member moves through. You build pages in the admin under Pages.

Draft and Published

A page is a draft while you build it, which keeps it private. You publish it to make it public. You can unpublish a page to take it back to private.

Archived

A page you no longer need. Members can't see it or its chat, but its content, activity and messages are kept. Restoring an archived page brings it back as a draft.

CTA (call to action)

The thing a member completes to earn points, such as a petition, an event RSVP, a sign up form, or a link. Each page can hold many CTAs.

Member

A supporter who uses the member app. People who have signed up appear in your member data.

Points

What members earn for taking actions. Points decide a member's level and what they can redeem in your reward store.

Level

A rank from level 1 to level 5 based on the total points a member has earned. Spending points does not lower a member's level.

Reward

Something a member redeems with points, such as a digital sticker or a coupon code for your store.

Leaderboard

A ranking of members by points. It resets every week so new members always have a fair chance.

Category

A label an admin puts on a campaign page naming the group that page belongs to, such as a state, a region, a chapter, or a team. Pages sharing a label count as one category. When an organization labels pages for two or more categories, members can compare how many points each one has earned.

"Category" is the word you see in the page builder. Members never see it. The standings name your label instead, as in "California is #2 of 5", because the label is the part a member recognizes.

Weekly campaign goal

A shared goal bar on each campaign that all members add to. It resets every Monday and adjusts to match how active the campaign has been. As the team crosses each step, the campaign levels up and active members can collect a bonus. Each bonus stays collectable for 48 hours after the campaign reaches that step, then it expires, so members have a reason to log in and collect.

Overdrive

What happens when a campaign blows past its full weekly goal. The bar turns gold and the level keeps climbing past the top, with a small flat bonus for the first few extra goals banked that week. It is meant to be rare.

Check-in

A once-a-day action a member takes to show up and earn a few points. Checking in on consecutive days builds a streak.

Streak

A run of days where a member keeps coming back to take action. Longer streaks earn bonus points.

Badge

A mark a member earns for reaching a milestone, such as completing a 14-day streak loop or a number of total check-ins. Badges show on a member's profile.

Kudos

A quick thank you one member sends another to recognize them. Receiving kudos earns a few points each day.

Referral

An invite a member sends to bring in a new supporter. When the new supporter joins and takes their first action, both people earn points.

Squad

The group of people who take action on a campaign through one member's shared link. The member who shared the link is that Squad's captain, and can collect a bonus based on how much action their Squad drives. See Squads.

Captain

The member whose shared link a Squad formed around. See Squads.

Contact import

A CSV of supporters you bring in from your CRM. Organiz stores the contacts and sends each one an invitation email series on your behalf. See Import your list.

The personal link in an invitation email. It lands the contact on the campaign you picked, greets them by name, and ties their new account back to your import when they sign up.

Welcome points

Points you attach to a contact import. They are held for each contact and arrive automatically the moment that person signs up. You can set one amount for the whole list, or give individual people their own amount right in the CSV.

Discover

A list in the member app of campaigns members can join. Each card shows the campaign's weekly progress, its top members, and its latest activity, and links to the campaign page.

Pinned action

A CTA a member chooses to feature on their own profile. Members call these pinned.

Importance tier

How important an action is, on a scale of Minor, Standard, Major, and Featured. You pick the tier and Organiz works out the points, so your actions stay in proportion to each other.

Value tier

How valuable a reward is, on a scale of Small, Medium, Large, and Premium. The cost of the reward comes from its tier and the challenge level.

Challenge level

The one setting that decides how hard members work for a reward. You set it as the number of standard actions it should take to afford a Medium reward. A lower number is easier, a higher number is harder.

Campaign end date

The last day of a campaign with a deadline, like an election. You set it on the Economy settings page. Organiz then flags any reward that costs more than a member can earn before that day. It is only a warning. Members can still earn and redeem after the date.

Override

A value you pin by hand instead of letting Organiz derive it from a tier. A pinned action or reward keeps its value when you change other settings, and a recalculation leaves it alone unless you ask to clear overrides.

Code pool

A set of one-time codes attached to a reward. Each redemption claims one code and shows it to that member, so no two members get the same one. When the pool runs out the reward is sold out.

Per-member limit

How many times one member can redeem the same reward. The default is 1, and 0 means no limit.

Data Admin and Admin

The two team roles. A Data Admin can manage everything, including member data. An Admin can build and run campaigns but cannot see member data or change roles. See Team and roles.
