Import your list

Bring your CRM contacts onto Organiz. Organiz sends the invitation emails and shows you who joined.

You already have a list of supporters in your CRM. This page shows you how to import it so Organiz can invite those people for you. Each contact gets an invitation email that lands on a campaign you pick, with up to two reminders. When someone signs up through their link, they become a member and you can see it in your import counts.

You can also attach welcome points to an import. The points wait for each contact and arrive the moment they sign up. It is a strong reason for people to click. You can set one flat amount for the whole list, or give individual people their own amount right in the CSV, for example crediting different people for different phone banks or canvasses they already did.

Consent comes first

Only import people who gave your organization permission to email them. The import asks you to confirm this with a checkbox, and Organiz records that confirmation. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. A contact who unsubscribes is never emailed by your organization again, even if they appear in a later import.

Step by step

  1. In the admin, go to Member Data then Integrations.
  2. Find the Contact import & activation card.
  3. Give the list a name, like "May canvass list". The name shows up in your imports table later.
  4. Pick the onboarding campaign. This is the page contacts land on when they click their invitation. Organiz pre-selects your most recently published page.
  5. Optional: set welcome points. Each contact gets this amount held for them, and it arrives when they sign up. This is the default, and a row with its own points column overrides it for that one person.
  6. Optional: adjust the reminder timing. By default a first reminder goes out 4 days after the invite and a final one after 10 days. Set either to 0 to turn it off.
  7. Tick the consent checkbox.
  8. Choose your CSV file and select Import and invite. The file needs an email column. Name, phone, zip, external_id, and campaign are optional. So are points, source, and action. Set these per row to give that person their own point amount instead of the default above, labeled with where it came from. Select Download template if you want a file to match.

After the import, a summary shows how many contacts were invited, how many were already members, and how many were skipped because they unsubscribed earlier. You can download a row by row result file.

What your contacts receive

Each contact gets an invitation email with your organization's name, the campaign you picked, and their waiting points if you attached any. The button in the email takes them straight to your campaign page, where a welcome banner greets them by first name and asks them to sign up.

Contacts who have not signed up get the reminders on your schedule. Anyone who signs up or unsubscribes drops out of the series right away.

Reading the imports table

Below the import card you can see every list you have imported, with live counts.

  • Imported is everyone stored from your file.
  • Invited is how many received their invitation.
  • Converted is how many signed up through their link.
  • Unsubscribed is how many opted out.
  • Points matured is how many welcome points have actually been collected by people who signed up.

Select Status CSV on any row to download the per contact detail, including who converted and when.

When a member joined through an import, their member detail shows the list name under Joined Via. That is how you connect a sign up back to the list it came from.

Rules worth knowing

  • People who are already members are stored as "already member" and get no email. Use external action credits if you want to reward existing members for off-platform work.
  • A contact who is still in an active invite series cannot be imported again. The import tells you which rows to remove.
  • Your file can carry a per row campaign column to send different contacts to different pages, and per row points, source, and action columns to credit different people different amounts. A blank cell falls back to the settings you chose for the whole list.
  • Imports are capped at 10,000 contacts per file, and each organization can send at most 5,000 activation emails per day. Larger lists continue the next day automatically.
