Member posts, walls and stickers

How members' photos and videos show on your pages, and how you guide and moderate them.

When a member uploads a photo or video through a Photo/Video Upload action and says other members can see it, it appears on a wall. A wall is the "From members" section of a campaign page, and the Wall tab of your organization page.

How walls work

  • A campaign page shows a few posts, with See all to scroll through every post full screen and Upload to post one. Select a post's remix count to see it and its remixes full screen.
  • A campaign's wall shows posts from that campaign's Photo/Video Upload actions. Your organization's wall shows posts from all your own published campaigns. A hub's wall doesn't include its chapters' campaigns.
  • Anyone can look at a wall. Reacting and reporting need a sign in.
  • Posts go live as soon as they're uploaded. You don't need to approve each one.
  • The order is shuffled each time a member opens the wall, so every post has the same chance of being seen first. A member's own posts from the last day come first for them. The order also spreads members out so one person can't fill the wall. Photos and videos take turns, and posts that look the same are shown less often.
  • Members react with 🔥 👏 ❤️ or 🗳️, the way chat apps do, and anyone can see who reacted. Reacting earns a member a few points, and the person who posted earns a few for each member who reacts. Both are capped each day, and you can change the amounts on the Economy page.
  • A member can hide their own post from the wall, or show it again, from the action's window. A hidden post can't be remixed.

Where uploads show up

  • Each upload counts as a completed action in Analytics and in the member's activity in Member Data, like any other action.
  • Points members earn from posts show in their activity with plain names: reacting, getting a reaction, remixing, being remixed, and posting an upload on social media.
  • Member Data, then Uploads, lists every upload across your campaigns.
  • The bonus for posting an upload on social media is paid only when the action's points are on.

Remixes

Members can remix a post from the wall: reply with their own (Respond), or record themselves under a video (Duet). A remix is posted to the same Photo/Video Upload action as the original, so it counts toward that action's limit and goes through the same moderation. Past the limit, a remix still posts, without the action's points. A duet includes the original video, so when the original is hidden, removed or taken off the page, its duets come off the wall too. When the original is deleted, its duets are deleted with it. Once a remix is shown on the campaign, the member who remixed and the member they remixed each earn a few points, capped each day. Removing a remix and taking back its points also takes back those remix points. You can change the amounts on the Economy page. Only posts on the wall can be remixed, so a member who hides a post also stops remixes of it.

Tags

A tag is a label members can add to a post, like "Yard signs" or "Rally". Tags belong to your organization, so the same tag can sort posts across all your campaigns. Walls can be filtered by tag, and so can the Uploads list in Member Data.

Step by step

  1. Open the Photo/Video Upload action's form and find Tags.
  2. Type in the box. Pick a tag you already have from the list, or select Create at the bottom of the list to make a new one.
  3. Select the x on a tag to stop offering it on this action.
  4. To make members choose a tag, open the Options tab and set Members must pick a tag to Required.
  5. Save the action.

Tags are optional for members unless you require one. When a tag is required, members can also pick Other when none fits. Posts with no tag can be shown on their own on walls and in the Uploads list.

Archive a tag

When a tag has run its course, archive it. Members can no longer pick it on any action, but posts that already have it keep it.

  1. In any Photo/Video Upload action's form, select Manage tags.
  2. Select Archive next to the tag. Select Restore to bring it back.

Sticker sets

A sticker set is a group of your own stickers, like campaign logos or "I voted" badges. Members place them on their photos and videos, then move, resize and turn them. What they see on screen is exactly what's saved.

Step by step

  1. Go to Settings, then Stickers, and select Create sticker set. Give it a name and, if you like, a category.
  2. Select Upload in the sticker grid to add your own. PNGs with a transparent background work best. A large transparent PNG can work like a frame or banner that members place themselves. Select the x on a sticker to remove it.
  3. Select Publish. You go back to the list, and the set is live. Save draft keeps your changes without showing them to members.
  4. In the Photo/Video Upload action's form, under Sticker sets, untick any set you don't want that action to offer. A new action starts with every published set ticked.

Each set's menu (⋯) has Edit, Rename, Category and Archive. An archived set is no longer offered to members, and posts made with it keep their stickers. Restore it from the Archived tab.

Frames made before October 2026 still show in the list, but members are no longer offered them.

Categories

Categories group sticker sets, like "Election day" or "Campus". Members see your sticker sets grouped by category when they add stickers. A set has one category. Type to find one, or select Create at the bottom of the list to make a new one. Clear the box to leave a set without a category. Select Categories at the top of the page to add, archive or restore them.

Stickers from KLIPY and GIPHY

Members can also search KLIPY and GIPHY for stickers. It's on for every organization, and results are limited to the most family-friendly rating. Our server does the searching, so the providers never see who your members are.

  • To turn it off everywhere, or block words members might search for, use Sticker search at the bottom of the Stickers page. A search using a blocked word shows nothing.
  • To turn it off for one action, use Let members search for stickers on the action's Options tab.
  • To save stickers into one of your sticker sets, open the set and search under Stickers. A saved sticker links to the provider's image rather than copying it.

Animated stickers move on videos. On a photo, a moving sticker turns the post into a short looping video, at least 3 seconds long. An action that takes photos only keeps stickers still.

Stickers and text work in the in-app camera and on photos and videos members pick from their phone: they select Stickers & text on the photo or video before uploading.

Sharing permission

When members upload, one checkbox lets them show the post on your campaign's page, where other members and your organization can see it and reshare it. It's never ticked for them: letting you reshare their photo is their choice. Members can share and download each other's posts from the wall. Visitors who aren't signed in can share a post but not download it. You can change the line under the checkbox on the action's Options tab, under Sharing permission.

Posting past the action's limit

The action's completion limit (on the Options tab) caps the points a member earns from it, not how much they can post. Once a member reaches it, the action shows they've earned its points, and they can still upload from the wall's Upload button. Those posts earn no points, including no bonus for posting them on social media, and don't count as another completion. A member can upload up to 20 posts a day.

Sticker sets are drafts until published

Members only see a set after you publish it. Saving again makes a new draft, so a published set doesn't change until you publish the new version.

Moderation

Every post has a Report option. When 3 different members report the same post, it's hidden from walls until someone on your team looks at it.

Step by step

  1. Go to Moderation. Reported posts are on the Reported tab under Photos and videos.
  2. For each post, choose:
    • Keep it to leave it up.
    • Restore to put back a post that reports hid.
    • Hide to take it off walls. It moves to the Hidden tab, where you can restore it or remove it at any time. Points stay as they are.
    • Remove to take it down. It moves to the Removed tab. Data Admins can also take back the points it earned.
  3. Use Block member to stop someone posting and reacting in your organization.

Hide is for a post you're not sure about, or one that's fine but doesn't belong on the page. Remove is for a post that breaks your rules.

A removed post's original is kept for 30 days, so you can restore it from the Removed tab if you change your mind. After that it's deleted.

The member gets a notification when you hide, remove or restore their post, including any points taken back. They never see who reported it or why. Restoring a post that reports hid sends nothing, since the member was never told it was hidden. A member can report a post only once.
