Session recordings
How members choose whether Organiz records their visits, and how they change that choice.
Organiz can record how people use the member app, to find what's confusing or broken. Members choose whether their visits are recorded. Nothing is recorded until they say OK.
The first-visit banner
The first time someone opens the member app, a small banner asks whether we may record how the site is used. It doesn't block the page. On a phone it sits above the bottom navigation, and on a computer it sits in the bottom corner.
- A member opens the member app for the first time.
- The banner explains what we record and links to the privacy policy.
- They pick OK to allow recordings, or No thanks to refuse them.
- The banner goes away. It only comes back in the cases below.
Choosing No thanks only turns off recordings. The member can still use everything in the app. Heatmaps, which combine where people click across many visits, and usage analytics continue either way.
An OK counts only for the person who gave it. If a member said OK while signed out, or someone else said OK on the same device, the banner asks again after they sign in. A No thanks given on a device turns recording off for everyone who uses it, but it's only saved to a member's account when they choose it themselves while signed in.
Changing the choice later
Members can stop or resume recordings at any time.
- Open Settings.
- Find Session recordings under Privacy.
- Switch it off to stop recording in that browser straight away, or on to allow it again.
When a member is signed in, their choice is saved on their account. A device where they haven't answered uses the account's choice. A device that already has the app open picks up a change the next time the app loads there, so a page left open on another device keeps recording until it's reloaded or closed.
If a member's devices disagree, No thanks wins. A device where they said No thanks keeps recordings off until they switch recordings on in Settings on that device.
What a recording leaves out
Recordings never include what a member types. Chat, comments, and the contacts in Text a Contact are blacked out. The privacy policy has the full details.
